Theatre and Performing Arts
With the digital box office taking the real thing’s place as the audience’s first port of call for tickets and information, a thriving, modern theatre needs a website to match.
Any barrier to learning about an exciting performing arts programme, or to simply and securely buying tickets, could ultimately lead to empty seats. We work closely with theatres, production companies and performance arts organisations to create vibrant, creative websites that reflect the work created on their stages.
Digital needs in theatre and the performing arts
Websites for theatres, and other performing arts companies or venues, require a great deal of information and functionality to be presented in a visual, engaging way for users of all levels of technical ability.
At Splitpixel, we’ve been working with some of the UK’s leading theatres for over five years – we’ve built up a reputation throughout the industry as a reliable web development partner for theatres because we know the digital challenges they face.
As integration specialists, we can seamlessly incorporate a wide range of booking systems into a theatre site – your users will never know they’ve moved to a different platform.
And our approach to web development means we deliver bespoke, future-proof sites that are highly secure and easy to update with new content on a daily basis. They look great across all devices, too.

We have been working with the largest regional theatre in the UK for many years. The latest Leeds Playhouse website features a comprehensive performance calendar, complete with date and genre filtering, and an archive of every past show. Seamless integration with Spektrix allows for secure booking without leaving the site, and a customer login for repeat purchases.
Finally, extensive content on the theatre’s community outreach, artistic development and playhouse redevelopment plans is presented in an engaging, bold and colourful way.

We helped them make the leap from Wix to WordPress with a bespoke CMS-driven website that allows them to quickly build new pages with ease.

Exeter Northcott Theatre
The Exeter Northcott Theatre is a regional theatre based at the University of Exeter who needed a fresh new site with dynamic features, AA accessibility and smooth integrations.
They also needed a site with a CMS that made things easy to update for their marketing team as the theatre continued to grow and develop.
