London social media marketing FAQs

  • Posting on social media isn’t difficult – most of us do it multiple times a day! But consistently creating engaging multimedia content that keeps your business visible and active, that inspires engagement with your target audience, that drives clicks and purchases, is a lot of work. So to is maintaining active social listening to keep on top of what your audience is saying about and to you – and reporting on everything to continuously improve. And if you’re looking to run specific paid social media advertising campaigns, there’s even more to consider, from targeting to budgets. A social media agency takes care of all of this.

  • Social media is often people’s first port of call when learning about a business. We don’t tend to go direct to websites quite as much anymore – we look for them on the platforms we’re already on. You could be updating your website every single day, but if your social media pages are running dry then a lot of people might think you’re not operational anymore. But creating good social media content can be time consuming – an agency can provide ongoing creative content that keeps awareness and engagement up.

  • Social media costs can vary and are often impacted by factors such as the market you are in, how fast you want to achieve your objectives, and the level of competition you are up against. The mix of services you are seeking will also influence the cost – simple organic social scheduling tends to be at a lower cost than multimedia content creation and paid ad campaigns. Most London social media agencies work on a retainer basis – most likely starting from a few hundred pounds per month – and will undertake organic work (posting, managing and listening) and paid work (budgeting, ads and performance tracking) continuously.

  • Depending on your exact goals and budgets, absolutely. Social media algorithms are opaque and competitive – ensuring you’re seen by the right people just by posting organically can take a long time. Running paid ads lets your message spread beyond your networks, giving you more tools to reach the right people at the right times, delivering direct, measurable ROI. However, while organic social media can be maintained consistently with no greater goal than awareness, paid social media campaigns really do need a specific target to achieve. If you’re not sure what you want to do, then it’s not worth putting spend behind your posts.

Client Spotlight: Wimbledon Book Festival

Wimbledon BookFest began in 2006 with a mission to bring the local community together at an annual literature festival.

Today, it is regarded as one of the UK’s leading literary festivals and is home to talks and events by leading authors, thinkers, scholars and entertainers from the world of literature, arts, politics and sport, while also delivering education projects for schools and young people.

Alongside paid social, we worked on an organic social media strategy with Wimbledon BookFest. This started with a complete audit of all of their accounts to ensure that their branding, profiles and presona research were all up to date.

We then created a bespoke plan for the duration of the festival, along with assets that could be shared between the teams.

Alongside the London based festival, we were reactive with posting stories, reels and posts to drive traffic and inform users.
