Bison Assist initially came to us in 2021 looking for a brand new, fully CMS driven website. Since then, we have supported them with a full digital marketing strategy to give them an edge on their competitors.

About Bison Assist

Founded in 2010, Bison Assist are a risk assessment and online health and safety eLearning provider for various business sectors across the UK. Bison are consistently updating their website with the latest legislation and guidance to provide the best quality risk assessments for their clients, ensuring they make the process as easy as possible for their clients.

The brief

Bison Assist provide a lot of services for their clients, so they wanted a website design which showcased this in a more organised way. We wanted to create them a website which would allow users to be able to navigate the site through user-friendly design – this would allow users to be able to find exactly what service or information they were looking for – with less clicks.

We also had the opportunity to work with Bison across some marketing projects throughout the build of their website including keyword research, identifying SEO-valuable URLs and checking for ranking and backlinks of their old website. By establishing this information for them in the early stages of the website process, we were able to gather recommendations and opportunities for the future.

 

Creating a visual identity

Bison wanted to really get their identity across within their website. With an already established logo and colour palette, we worked with Bison to come up with ways that they could get their user-friendly, customer focused brand across throughout the design. Our senior designer Amy came up with some illustrations which depicted a bison, Bison Assist’s logo emblem, carrying out various tasks related to health and safety.

Combined with a strong colour palette, Bison had a visual identity that stood out. From here, our web designers were able to incorporate a visual language for their new site, focused on establishing a clear message that Bison Assist are leaders in their field, conveying this through clean and simple icons, buttons and CTAs.

On going digital marketing strategy

Getting Bison Assist set up with a new digital marketing strategy was something we implemented from the launch of their new site. We began with extensive keyword research to help segment the campaigns and specific ad groups, which gave us the opportunity to focus on the bottom of the funnel keywords and create bespoke campaigns to highlight the different range of risk assessments they have to offer.

As part of our retainer with Bison, we are regularly reviewing search terms for any negative results. This gives us the ability to split the ad groups based on match type to help ensure we are always on track for monthly targets.

Our senior digital marketing specialist Ash has been looking after the Bison Assist Google Ads Account to ensure they get the best results. He has implemented a sophisticated portfolio bidding strategy and offline conversion tracking, enabling the campaigns to deliver within the target cost per conversion, and avoid high cost per clicks.

The results

Since working with Bison Assist on their digital marketing strategy and new Google Ad campaigns, they have had a 116% increase in overall conversions.

Comparing 3 months of data after the new campaigns versus the old campaigns, our marketing team have managed to get their cost per conversion down by 38%, with a 49.3% increase in conversions while spending 7.8% less – getting them way more conversions, for less spend.

We are still working with Bison Assist, to make sure that they’re consistently getting results. We are now in the process of implementing offline conversion tracking, providing Google with better quality conversion data for the future.
