Website Design
Websites that work, wherever you are. Turning heads with designs that are a delight to click or swipe.
Web design is where we started. We’ve been creating websites for a decade now, and sometimes we can’t believe just how far we’ve come.
We hope our work speaks for itself – so take a look! We always focus on making sure your website is totally fit for purpose – we don’t overwhelm with needlessly flashy designs that will date quickly just for the sake of it. Everything is carefully considered to suit your approach, stand out in your industry, and work perfectly on the platforms your customers and clients use.

Putting user experience first
Any good website design balances three different viewpoints: what the company wants, what the designer knows will work from experience, and what a target user will engage with best. Each is an essential consideration, but we think users are the most important of all.
Whatever we create, we put ourselves in the shoes of the people who are going to be using it: your clients and customers. This means we carry out persona research to understand who they are, what they want, and how they’re likely to use your site, and we create user interfaces that make these customer journeys easy – all while looking lovely too.
Staying ahead of the curve
Website design changes fast – the standards, the software versions, the different devices we use to browse. One of the biggest challenges we face is keeping on top of these developments, and future-proofing our designs as much as possible.
Our suite of design tools has advanced a lot over the years, progressing from your static Photoshop knock-ups to fully interactive in-browser prototypes that let you experience your design, different styles and transitions before the site even goes into development. It means we can design, tweak and perfect until you’re 100% happy.
Responsive website design for every device
Mobile counts more than ever before – even if you think potential customers aren’t viewing you on mobile (which, to be honest, they are!), search engines factor mobile performance into how they rank sites, giving more weight to those that offer the best experience on tablets and phones as well as a desktop.
All of our website designs are completely responsive, so they’ll pop on screens of any size. As part of our research and planning, we’ll identify where most of your visitors are finding you, and tailor your designs to match.

Mercury Theatre
We were so excited to take on this project with Colchester's artistic powerhouse - Mercury Theatre.
We helped bring their new branding to life and give them a kick start with a fresh new website.

ThickSkin Theatre
ThickSkin are an exciting theatre productions company focusing on creating innovative performances for representative audiences.
We helped them make the leap from Wix to WordPress with a bespoke CMS-driven website that allows them to quickly build new pages with ease.
The site incorporates multimedia content in a variety of ways, using video page headers, Spotify playlists, image galleries, performance trailers and a simple ecommerce shop throughout to create a bright, bold site that jumps out of the screen.

Sunny Bank Mills
We created a dynamic new WordPress site for Sunnybank Mills, a business, arts, and heritage space, that included an online gallery shop to sell beautifully stylish jewellery, ceramics, textiles, books, accessories, art prints, and other handmade crafts designed by local independent artists.
While the site is not built in ecommerce software, it provides a gateway to the mill’s full retail experience, with multiple opportunities to enquire about buying art through the site.
