Manufacturing
Manufacturing is such a broad sector, with a wide range of demands and challenges facing businesses. But wherever a business sits in the supply chain, and whether they’re building relationships with business clients or selling to commercial customers, there will always be some common needs across the sector.
Displaying expertise and technical excellence, showcasing products and processes, and identifying the most effective ways to generate leads or sell online are all essential.

Digital needs in manufacturing
Ecommerce sites that sell directly have many unique features, but they’ll still need to provide the same user experience in many other respects, including:
Universal site requirements
- Technical specifications and photography
- FAQs, case studies and advice content
- Online quoting tools and contact forms
- Targeted Google and social media ads
Unique considerations for direct sales
- Digital shopfront
- Payment processing
- Customer reviews
- Google shopping
Our work in the manufacturing sector
We’ve done a lot of work for clients in the manufacturing sector over the years, both in web design and digital marketing.
Kilner & Hutchinson - Web design, development, copywriting and photography
Based in our hometown of Huddersfield, Kilner & Hutchinson is the UK's leading cast-iron foundry that has been doing amazing work for the last 40 years. We set them up with a modern, futureproof WordPress site and a full rebrand to bring them up to date.

Arville - Comprehensive digital marketing strategy
As one of the world’s leading technical textiles manufacturers, Arville are always looking to grow their business. They came to us for support with improving their market position and building brand awareness online.
We delivered a full marketing strategy, covering paid advertising, technical SEO, social media management and email newsletters, that has seen huge increases in search visibility (327%) and website traffic (101%).

Widdops – Web design with paid advertising support
As an industrial brush manufacturer largely dealing in the B2B space, Widdops didn’t want to sell directly online. Instead, they needed a site that would work harder as a lead generation tool.
We developed a site with a carefully planned user journey, giving visitors the option to learn more about Widdops’ solutions from either a technical standpoint, or by working backwards from their end application. Supported by copywriting, product photography, sales brochure downloads and targeted paid advertising, the new site has helped Widdops boost sales.

Rizistal - Direct B2C ecommerce sales
It’s more common for our manufacturing sector clients to favour a brochure site aimed at lead generation, rather than offering a webstore for instant online purchases. However, Rizistal wanted to sell their products direct to consumers.
We delivered a full ecommerce solution, allowing users to purchase products directly, as well as request quotes for trade orders. The store is supported by how-to content to inform customers and improve SEO.
